Not a good start, but a start.
I'm not going to talk about my morning, because it consisted mostly of sleeping and eating.
Sleeping mostly.
After shopping in a kampung mall(pics when i get back), I went back and slept.
If there is ONE thing I love about this house in Sitiawan, it's got be how relaxing it is.
Time is completely what you make it to be here. And for the first time in a long time, I can get proper sleep!
Anyway, I slept a good sleep and woke up around 5-6 pm.
My grandpa has two bikes. One's a cricket(i think they used to call it that), and the other's a mountain bike.
My brother(being the nice guy that he is) took the cricket.
I took the mountain bike.
We were going at an average-ish speed around the village, when suddenly the welding between the pedals and the main body of the cricket gave way!
I watched (and can replay it in slow mo) how the entire back wheel-pedal section got flipped around and my brother landed on the road, skidding.
He's glasses ejected from his face right into the path my bike. Had I not expertly avoided them, they would have been crushed.
He kept whining all the way home, like a little piggy, about how his arm hurt.
BOOHOO!
I had a semi awesome adventure after that.
I got on that mountain bike and went exploring the estate village.
I turned into one village road and witnessed to kids that were laughing hysterically and riding a bike in circles.
That's right. Two indian kids, on ONE bike, riding in circles, laughing like they were on drugs.
I turned away from that road. But not before getting some angry stares from the parents. I think they thought it was my fault their kids were retarded.
The next road was the real thing. There was a chinese family there, with geese, chicken, and goats. I smiled at the 10+ children playing some weird village game as I passed.
I got to the end of the road(it was about 500 metres long) and found that it lead to a main road near the city. I turned back, and realized how away from home I was.
On both sides of the road were trees. On my left was a kelapa sawit estate, on my right was a rubber estate. I decided it was time for a little adventure.
I steered the bike into the kelapa sawit estate.
And took the scariest bike ride. Ever.
Imagine being in an estate for the first time. And scenes form The Village passing through your mind. You know, that weird movie, with the weird beast in the weird red cloak.
Yeah. It was mind blowingly scary.
On the way out of that street, when passing the10+ children, I realized that one of their fathers was shouting.
I thought he was shouting at me.
So I did the natural thing and sped up. Without looking back.
He shouted louder, as though shouting at a DOG.
I got offended, YOU DONT TALK TO CITY FOLK LIKE THAT YOU TWO BIT....
OMG A F**KING DOG WAS CHASING ME!
It was right on me! Like just 2 feet away from my tyres.
I pedaled like Lance Armstrong, one nut and all.
All the village kids were laughing at me. Damned kids. Let's hope the estate takes them eh?
I exited my that little piece of estate and got back into the village proper(stat what they call it?)
On the way back, there was this family in a house having the biggest quarel ever.
I wasn't all 'yes man' so i just went back home.
Good night people.
