When I heard my brother was coming over for the weekend I sat down and completed the single player campaign for COD5. To unlock the Nazi Zombie mode. Which is sorta like a toned down, much harder version of Left 4 Dead.
Picture this:
You (and a second player, if there's one), stuck in a World War 2 era German bunker. With an increasing number of Nazi Zombies attacking. It's a crazy concept, but it's cool.
Initially, there's only 1 area to defend. With 5 boarded up windows. The more you kill, the more points you get. You use these points to buy better weapons and ammo. Here's the catch:
Since the zombies get faster and more numerous the longer you play, the rifles available in the first area get a bit useless.
You have to unlock new areas, which contain better weapons, but also open up more windows for the Nazi Zombies to come through.
Trust me, this Nazi Zombie mode is scarier than anything on Left 4 Dead. Left 4 Dead is more fun though, because it's more teamwork oriented and there are more options and it's generally easier. The Nazi Zombie mode is friggin scary because the zombies aren't brittle, like in Left 4 Dead. Just 3 hits from a Nazi Zombie will kill you. So you have to watch out. Plus, the Nazi zombies are nearly soundless. You'll be shooting in one direction, suddenly you swing around and there's 10 more coming from the other side.
That happened once. I did not scream like a little girl. Ok, maybe I did but no one can read this so I'm safe!
In the Nazi Zombie mode, there is no end. You just play until you get overwhelmed. There is no rescue. You just play till you die. And trust me, me and my brother couldn't get past level 11 even though we were trying our best.
So, yeah. If you've got the chance, check that shit out. It's awesome. But a little sickening because you know you'll die in the end. The fact that that people have made it to level 26 makes me feel like the ultimate noob.
I don't feel so good so I'll end my post prematurely. Not right now, but later when I've got nothing to say.
