I know I lose about 3 readers everytime I mention a PC game or my Xbox 360, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make!
I'm going to rewind and tell you exactly how it works now.
Yesterday, at around 11.30am, I asked my driver to send me to Landmark, to find an S-video - VGA cable, because I bought an Xbox360 S-video cable. So, if I could convert that S-video connector to a VGA connector, then I might have a chance to play it on the monitor. I tried 7 shops, first was, of coarse, sysmach. But they were out of stock. The next 5 shops were out of stock, at the last one, I searched for 15 minutes and suddenly found it!
Alas, it was a PS/2-VGA(not playstation two, the PS/2 here refers to the keyboard connector). Why the hell would anyone need to connect a keyboard to a monitor. I scolded the employees for being douchbags and headed to Holiday Plaza, I thought I'd be stuck there for an hour, just looking for my precious cable. Instead, it took me 5 minutes to find a shop that sold one=.=
This was better than a S-video converter, this was a 100% workable Xbox360 cable that was meant to be plugged into computer monitors! I was so excited that I didn't bother bargaining, I just paid 50 bucks and walked off. When I get in these 'hooray' moods, I usually grab people and sing to them, but this was Holiday Plaza, so I'd probably be beaten up by pirates if I did that. Arghhh, matey.
I seriously thing DVD pirates should have more sea-worthy personalities. Imagine how the china slang will go with the piratey one.
The cable works fine. It works perfectly. And the audio cables are long enough to reach my audiolab amplifier, allowing some distance between the amp and my monitor.
Here's the cool part, My monitor is plugged into my PC, via the DVI port, and my Xbox is plugged in too(via the VGA port). The same idea for the sound, my PC is plugged into my amp under the 'video' profile, and the xbox360 is plugged into under the 'CD' profile.
What's cool about that? There's now a PC mode and 360 mode. In my mode, I flip the dial to 'video' on my amp, and the sound works for the PC, and change input to 'digital' on my monitor. If I change the sound input to 'CD' for my amp and 'analog' for my monitor, it goes in Xbox 360 mode. This. Is. The. Shit.
Don't tell me I don't deserve this. I know I don't. Just like Africans don't deserve to starve and blah blah blah. I know I don't deserve it, but I don't think I'd be able to live with myself if I gave up an oppurtunity THIS good.
