Jond, Bames Jond

First things first.
6 Aston Martins were destroyed while producing the latest Bond movie.
Which I watched a few hours back.
SIX ASTON MARTINS!
NOT DB7s, not even Vantages.
Friggin ASTON MARTIN DBS V12s!
Sure they look butt ugly on the inside, but just listening to that engine purr is... wow.
And, they don't look half bad on the outside.
Even though I don't like how Aston Martin has reused that same exterior look since, I dunno, I first saw it in Need For Speed 3 with the DB7. Tweaking the look to make it broader, longer, etc doesn't make it that unique.

OK, the new Bond movie had really great action scenes, car, boat and plane chases.
Daniel Craig once again pulls off James Bond in a gritty way.
BUT
this movie also
-feels like an expansion pack to Casino Royale because it's only 100 minutes long
-doesn't have a trace of classic Bond humor
-takes itself too seriously(why so serious?)
-jumps too fast to draw you in
-has a shaky story that calls for a sequel
-generally kills Bond tradition

Old Bond tradition like
-having a really cool Bond car
is now semi gone, because his 'exactly the same' Bond car from Casino Royale, the Aston Martin DBS, which is great, yeah, but, you only see it for 10 minutes, then it's gone
-having a really hot Bond girl
that's gone too.
-shaken not stirred
although he is seen drinking and describing his own martini blend, he doesn't actually say that phrase
-Bond, James Bond
Not even said. I expected him to, but...ahh...
-Agent Q
is absent, just like in Casino Royale. Which means no more spy gadgetry

I DID like 'Casino Royale'. The theme song, the realism and how dark the new Bond was, even though it wasn't very Bond.


Enough about Bond, I hate movies anyway.


Moving on to things I actually do give a shite about

And, I'm done with Company of Heroes. I finished up the Brit campaign and have absolutely no interest in playing Germany. Because I already know they lost the war, so what's the point?!
British Cromwell tanks are so inaccurately done. They can't even kill Panzer IVs one on one.

It is fcuking awesome. I wasn't even done browsing when I realised this was totally worth it.

In the field of gaming,

My 8600GT. I wanted to put my Logitech MX518 mouse as the best investment, but I realised the graphics card did more for me than the mouse. Yeah, even though the mouse has grown on me, and I rely on it to kick butt for every game, the graphics card had more value to it. I mean Three hundred bucks for a card that can nearly play COD4 on max settings?! Totally worth it.

In music,

My cheap but usefull crash. I use it as a crash ride, because I don't have a choice. It's the only piece of drumming equipment/gear that I don't have any regrets buying.
