Gifts from above

I don't like money.

Don't assume the true message in that statement.

Assume makes an ASS out of U and ME (ASS-U-ME).

I don't like money.

That doesn't mean I don't like recieving money.

I just don't like having money.

I'd rather trade all the money I have than keep it.

That's why I'm the most unthrifty in my family.

I amaze people by the speed I spend money.

I can spend all my monthly allowance the SAME week I get it.

But in THIS case, I spent all my birthday money on...

A bass pedal practice pad!
A practice pad
A pair of my favourite wood sticks!
But!
I've got more than half a thousand dollars(ringgit) to spend.
PROBABLY, by this weekend, I'll have my SoundOff set, making my drum kit sound free.
and, enabling me to play with 2 of my bass pedals, instead of a double pedal.
Which iS GOOD!
Allow me to give you a brief explanation.
Most conventional drummers (pop, soft-hard rock) use SINGLE bass pedals.
That means 1 bass drum, 1 bass pedal.
Simple.
Most heavy metal, progressive metal, Jazz drummers
use 2 bass drums with 2 pedals (1 pedal for 1 bass drum)
Most beginner, progressive rock drummers, use
1 bass drum, with a double pedal.
A double pedal is basically 1 main pedal with 2 beaters, and another pedal for your left foot.
This means your right pedal is giving the input for both pedals.
Even when you push down your left pedal, the force is transfered to your right pedal.
Even though double pedals save A LOT of space and money,
most people agree that using 2 bass drums and 2 pedals gives the best performance.
And since my double pedals aren't very nice to practice on.
And since a seriously good set of double pedals cost more than I can afford.
The best solution, which has presented itself, is to seperate my double pedals into 2 pedals for 2 bass drums.
There is one major complication though.
That means I need 2 bass drums!
And I have neither the space, nor the money for another bass drum.
BUT!
I do have 1 bass drum.
And I do have 1 practice pad for the bass.(which can be used as a soundless bass drum).
But that would be awkward. To have sound only emit from one bass drum.
Thus, by buying the SoundOff pack, all my problems will vanish.
The SoundOff pack cost RM300.
It includes pieces of silencing skins for a bass drum, 2 cymbals, a hihat, snare, 2 toms, and a floor tom.
So, with one bass drum SILENCED, and one bass practice pad, I can have 2 seperate bass pedals hitting silenced bass drums.
I am a genious.
I hope this works out...
