Fable 2 is actually quite funny. It's a different kind of funny. The last time I laughed while playing a game was GTA4, which was a serious game that had funny characters. Fable 2 is a funny game with serious fun. I'm serious.
While the game was loading, there was a screen with this :
"what's with it with this new temple of shadow? Last week, I caught one of the devotees under my bed worshiping the shadow" overheard from a citizen
A lot of Role Playing Games make you choose your own style of combat and specialize in a field. I hate that, because you have to stick to the same formula and in the end, you'll end up trying to change to another style of combat, just to see what you've missed.
Fable 1 & 2 are really different, because you switch between melee, ranged and magic instantly. There's not 'equip weapon' key. You tap the Y button, you fire your gun, you click the X button, you swing your sword, you tap the B button, you cast a fireball. It's THAT simple. No delay times, you just automatically switch to whatever weapon you wanna fire.
I think Fable 2 nailed a lot of things well. But it fails with the character development system a little bit. I mean, it's so easy to switch from good to evil. It's as though it's all interchangeable. I don't think it's that plausible.
So what else is new?
The Purplist is new of coarse! New episode's out in a few hours! enjoy.
