And I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad, The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had

Should have picked a shorter title.
I heard those lyrics in this video.

I remember watching this video back in 2007 and being awestruck at how cool it was. It sums up Gears of War nicely, even though the game doesn't work that way. I was so amazed at the video that I downloaded it off Youtube and made it my handphone's first video. I think it's the background song. It's so sad and out of place. It doesn't fit into the whole thing. Poor Marcus Fenix gets squished at the end.

Blogging about Gears of War should tell you that I've completed it! I completed it! A few hours ago. It's not an amazingly awesome game, but you have to remember a few things when playing it to really enjoy the whole thing.

1) Gears of War was released in 2006. Just look at the graphics, the attention to detail is crazy in this game, and so is the lighting and shadows. The textures could use a revamp though.

2)Gears of War pioneered the cover system(but didn't invent it), after Gears of War, a few games stole this idea, most notably Rainbow 6 Vegas and Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway.

3)Gears of War isn't a typical shooter. Most other shooting games give you a lot of options, but no tactics. In Gears however, you've only got a handful of options(just a few cool weapons available) and a lot of ways to maneuver.

Just look at this gun:

When enemies get to close you just have to rev up the chainsaw-bayonet and cut them in half!

Awesome!
