I was NOT sponsored by digi on this one. I just tried both of them and found that digi was better in darn near EVERY way.
When you switch from Digi to Maxis, they Maxis charges you RM 25 for the new sim card, but registration is free. When your Maxis line is active, they say congratulations, but you need to get yourself started up, as in, go buy your own credit, even if it's an emergency.
Maxis has some active10 thing, where you get to select 10 other maxis numbers for discounted rates. The more you reload with maxis, the more points you get. These points can be used to buy you AIRTIME or free SMSs to maxis numbers, and even caller ringtones. However, Maxis doesn't allow you transfer credit to another prepaid line. On top of that, Maxis doens't allow you to ask for credit advance, so if you're out of credit, they won't help you out at all.
Maxis charges for every phone call. Even to a Maxis helpline. So if you're out of credit, but have a proble, you can't even call them!
One thing though, when I was using digi before, every two or three days, i'd get a spam message from an unknown number. Maxis controls the amount of spam somehow. But the moment i requested to transfer out of maxis, they stopped filtering the spam, and so i got bombarded. Assholes.
All these shitty shortcomings got me a little mad(plus it costs a lot more than digi on the whole).
The moment I switched back to digi, all they do is help help help. In fact, I didn't have to pay for my new digi sim card! The moment I went back to digi, they give me a little emergency credit (rm1.01) just in case.
So yeah, stick to digi. I've made the mistake for all of you. Learn from me.
