night of the living dead. dead of the living night.

I saw a dead person today. In a coffin. At a funeral. It wasn't as gross as I expected it to be. And I had to stiffle laughter when a fly sat on the carcass. I took some pictures of the country side. But soon, I began to wonder, as different as Perak is compared to Johor, there really isn't that much variety in this country. Because, quite frankly, every state in Malaysia is trying to look more like KL.

Sitiawan 10 years ago was an ideal estate side village. But they've gone and ruined it now by opening a Giant, and The Store. Even a Pizza Hut.

Even Batu Pahat used to be at least distinguishable, with it's 2 lane highway roads, lined with copper coloured sand. Now everything just seems modern and boxy. Like every town has lost its personality. All of them are just cement, brick, and packed with the same industrial blandness of a twiggie.

I think, somewhere in a distant past, Johor Bahru used to have a face of its own.

But I don't like looking that far. We still have things like Jalan Dobi, It Roo Cafe, um... Jalan Trus...

Wow. I really don't think we have that much eh?

Oh wait. We have THE most kick ass Sultan in the whole country.

I don't think anyone else would shoot, beat, and cheat his own people.

What a piece of work.

I hope I don't wake up till next year.
