If there's one reason...

1)If there's one reason why I love playing Call of Duty (single player)
It'd be that you are almost universally an unnamed soldier.
You know in movies/comics/other stories where there'd be some guy with no name that just dies because he wasn't given a name?
Like in the movie the new Hulk movie, when the helicopter crashed, the people who survived the crash were key characters, everyone else who didn't have a name in the story died.
But in call of duty, your just a small part in a big story.
Your always a lower ranked soldier, and you've always got a captain/lieutenant giving you orders.
In fact you never speak throughout the whole game. Your just.... there...

And thats the best part I guess...
There are tonnes of other reasons.

2)If there's one reason why I respect to Mike Portnoy/ Chris Adler
It'd be that he almost universally does something different.
There are hundreds of other professional drummers out there making awesome drum beats and solos, and a lot of people say Mike Portnoy doesn't deserve all those commendations/awards.
But sometimes it's not just the skill that matters. Just looking at how dedicated he is to his music and how he always makes drumming just as important in his songs as the other elements is amazing. Sure he has an ego the size of his drum kit, but I guess he does deserve that bragging right.
For Chris Adler,
He is probably as/more dedicated than Mike Portnoy.
Their both very similar, yet at the same time, completely different.
Both of them were the ones who help start their primary bands,
both of them treat the drums as an equal element as the others in music
both of them have managed/produced for their bands at a certain time period.
Both are self taught drummers
Both won numerous awards in drumming.
Both are my favorite drummers ever!
But one plays heavy metal and the other plays progressive metal.
And Chris Adler is as humble as pie.

Geez. thats more than one reason...
I don't care.
my blog anyway.

If there's one reason why I am amazed by Nevermore
It'd be that they are smart.
It's weird to actually see a heavy metal band who visit the library as a past time innit?
Theres a vid on youtube, where they got this temporary guitarist to tour with them
And he said touring with them was boring because all they ever do is read.
And it's not just for show.
I just found out that the song I've been listening to by them called
"sentient 6"
had a much much creepier story to it.
That song, as you may know, was proceeded by "the learning".
But look at the title.
Why sentient 6?
why not 5?

You haven't read Star Trek books then.
but it's semi real life story, semi fantasy.

OK. The real life story is:
in the 70's.
NASA programmed a deep space probe called the voyager 1 and 2.
Their mission is to collect as much as data, then eventually die off and exit the solar system.
Or something along that line.

The Star Trek story is:
in the 90's
The Voyager 6 is sent out to probe space deeply (ewww)
and after it dies off, it spirals into deep space.
A mechanical life force thinks that voyager 6 is a machine itself,
and repairs it, and fuses with it.

And from there, the song sentient 6 takes over.
You seriously have to read the lyrics to understand.
