HEAT

OK.
The graphics card i bought recently is awesome.
It can do almost ANY game at max settings.
which is surprising considering it was only rm300+
but, there's a problem.
A Gigantic problem.
I'm not quite sure what EXACTLY the problem is. but my PC always crashes when playing
any game.
Take for example, the first time i tested Call of Duty 4 on FULL detail.
It was perfect. shadows looked real, no lag, very high frame rate, high resolution.
You can imagine how low my jaw dropped.
Every was just fine. Then suddenly the screen froze.
The audio stopped.
CRASH!!!
had to restart.
So i dropped COD4 and moved to the venerable GTA San Andreas.
The graphics in that game are REALLY bad.
and still my graphic card crashed!!!
Later I downloaded ntune.
I found out that the temperature of the card was over 85 degrees Celcius!!!
and 55++ degrees celsius when displaying desktop.
Thats bad.
I had some temporary solutions like turning the airconditioning up.
But now! I have an ingenious solution that has only left my pc hanging twice.
The main idea is called 'overclocking'.
Which basically means making your Graphics Processing Unit(GPU)
or CPU(mainboard processor) go more faster than it was suppose to do.
Technically, you can get the 2nd best graphic card or Processor and overclock it to go as fast as the best. But this causes heating problems.
So what I'm doing is underclocking.
I dunno if anyone has done this before.
but if OVERCLOCKING increses the TEMPERATURE
then UNDERCLOCKING decreases it right??
that was my hypothesis.
So I got Nvidia's Ntune software.
decreased memory bus by 10% (about 70MHz)
and decresed core bus by 10% also (about 54MHz)
and..
I finally got my first full taste of Assasin's Creed
and Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
(both massive games)

That's a pic of Assasin's creed.

Didn't play that much.

Had to study. LOL.

But in the end hypothesis accepted.
Underclocking will work until I can get a cooling system!!
